Once a VIP, Always a VIP :)

Going to Crummer definitely has its perks. We get an email Tuesday night from one of our professors saying that we have been invited by NASA to view the shuttle launch from the VIP section. The launch is on Thursday so of course it is kind of hectic trying to figure out who is going and how we are going to get there. They secured a bus and everyone signed up. If you lived in Florida long enough, you know that it is pretty rare for the shuttle to go up when they say it will, so everyone was skeptical. Thursday morning I woke up and it was gloomy and gray outside with only a 30% chance of liftoff. I thought for sure it wasn't going to happen. I called my Aunt who works with NASA and she told me that it was beautiful there. And of course both of my parents were saying that I had to go, it was a once in a lifetime opportunity. So I decided to go, still with only a 30% chance of liftoff. And I am so glad I did! We were only 3.2 miles away from the launch pad, the closest anyone can be. At 2:45pm, the shuttle Atlantis rocketed into the sky. It was absolutely amazing! Here are a few pictures that definitely don't do the experience justice:

Needless to say, if you ever get the opportunity to watch a shuttle launch, take it! Especially since there are only 12 more launches scheduled for the shuttles. As our tour guide said, we "were a part of history." And I feel blessed.

P.S. If you are friends with me on facebook, there is a video of the launch tagged to me. Check it out!

Awww! :)

This is the cutest thing I've seen in a really long time :)

Still Alive

I promise I'm still around!!

The beginning of the semester is always hectic - trying to get back on schedule, getting used to homework again, etc. I hope everyone is enjoying 2008 so far!

I promise I will be back soon. Well...as soon as I have something to write about other than school :)
