You Can Vote However You Like

It doesn't matter which way you voted...this is a great video :)

Here are the lyrics:
Obama on the left
McCain on the right
We can talk politics all night
And you can vote however you like
You can vote however you like, yeah

Democratic left
Republican right
November 4th we decide
And you can vote however you like
You can vote however you like, yeah

(McCain supporters)
McCain is the man
Fought for us in Vietnam
You know if anyone can
Help our country he can
Taxes droppin low
Dont you know oils gonna flow
Drill it low
I'll show our economy will grow

McCain's the best candidate
With Palin as his running mate
They'll fight for gun rights, pro life,
The conservative right
Our future is bright
Better economy in site
And all the world will feel our military might

(Obama supporters)
But McCain and Bush are real close right
They vote alike and keep it tight
Obama's new, he's younger too
The Middle Class he will help you
He'll bring a change, he's got the brains
McCain and Bush are just the same
You are to blame, Iraq's a shame
Four more years would be insane

Lower your Taxes - you know Obama Won't
PROTECT THE LOWER CLASS - You know McCain won't!
Have enough experience - you know that they don't
STOP GLOBAL WARMING - you know that you won't

I want Obama
FORGET OBAMA
Stick with McCain and you're going to have some drama
We need it
HE'LL BRING IT
He'll be it
YOU'LL SEE IT
We'll do it
GET TO IT
Let's move it
DO IT!

Obama on the left
McCain on the right
We can talk politics all night
And you can vote however you like
You can vote however you like, yeah

Democratic left
Republican right
November 4th we decide
And you can vote however you like, I said
You can vote however you like, yeah

I'm talking big pipe lines, and low gas prices
Below $2.00 that would be nice

But to do it right we gotta start today
Finding renewable ways that are here to stay

I want Obama
FORGET OBAMA,
Stick wit McCain you gone have some drama
MORE WAR IN IRAQ
Iran he will attack
CAN'T BRING OUR TROOPS BACK
We gotta vote Barack!

Obama on the left
McCain on the right
We can talk politics all night
And you can vote however you like, I said
You can vote however you like, yeah

Democratic left
Republican right
November 4th we decide
And you can vote however you like, I said
You can vote however you like, yeah

Pumpkin :)

It has been a few years since I carved a pumpkin. So I felt like this year would be a perfect time to start carving again. Not only would I carve, I would bake the pumpkin seeds. The pumpkin turned out great... The seeds, not so much haha.

Cubbie loved watching me :)

Cubbie!

Stefano visited Tampa today to meet a puppy that he was thinking about getting. He ended up coming home with the sweetest, smartest puppy who is now named Cubbie (because of his love for the Chicago Cubs).

We all had a great day together! Tonight the three of us went to Kelly's for a barbeque. Cubbie met her new best friend, Emmy. Here are some pictures of her enjoying first day with us.

Just Relaxing :)

She loves the camera :)

One Year Ago

One year ago my life changed drastically. Within a matter of months, I moved from Tallahassee back to Windermere then to Burlington, NC then back to Winter Park. In the midst of this, I was starting a new chapter in my life that included working for Rollins and pursuing my masters degree.

Relationships were ending. Well not all of them. Some were just changing. Like those with all of my girlfriends in Tallahassee. We went from seeing and talking to each other every day to communicating mostly over facebook. I may sound like I'm complaining and in a way, I am. I miss being around them and I miss all the fun times we had together. Sometimes I wish I could go back just to have that again. But, all of us have grown so much since then! I'm proud of all my friends and so excited to see where our lives take us.

I've listened to a significantly smaller amount of country music this year compared to years past when I wouldn't listen to anything else. I know that sounds funny and thats not saying that I enjoy it any less, I've just developed a subconscious fear about it. A fear that if I turn the country station on a song charged with memories and emotions will be playing. The memories, I can deal with. However, the emotions associated with the memories are what I'm afraid to face. But its getting better. I'm coming to terms with the fact that some things, like all of my questions and analyzations of the situation, are better left in the past.

In the past year, I've learned what it means to live on my own. I've seen snow falling for the first time. Which means I made my first snowman, had my first snowball fight, and went sledding for the first time. I've become more self aware. I've traveled the world (well, a small portion of it). I've worked in a company that teaches its culture and that culture is actually apparent when I went into work each day. Every employee (or STAR as Gaylord likes to call us) is passionate about what they do. That is very rare so its hard to describe and explain. And now I'm getting ready to start my second year of working for Rollins and pursuing my masters degree. I can't believe I'm already half way through! I have a clearer picture of what I want my future to look like - what my career will be, the type of person I want to be and the type of person I want to be with. Having this picture in clearer focus makes life a little more comfortable.

Through all of this, a few things have remained constant. My relationship with God. Every day, I try to find ways to grow closer to God and have Him be the center of my life. By no means am I perfect, I never will be. But I do know that I will try my hardest to use God's word as my guide. My family. I've realized now more than ever, how lucky I am. My parents and my brother will be there for me no matter what and will always have my best interest in their hearts. I am so grateful for that. Stefano. I met Stefano one year ago today. What started out as a genuine friendship evolved into an amazing relationship. He keeps me grounded and he is my best friend. He's not afraid to be open and honest with me, even if its not exactly what I want to hear. And most of all, he loves me just the way I am. I don't think I could ask for anything more.

The most important thing I've learned this year is that I am truly blessed. Even with all the things I think I want or need, it will never compare to what I already have. I'm enjoying my journey and I know this year will bring just as many changes as the last year. I hope you continue checking up on me!

July 4th

Just a quick post about July 4th :)

It was one of the greatest weekends I've had in Winter Park since I came down a year ago!

My parents and Sammy drove down to visit me for the weekend. They stayed with me in my apartment (which they loved :) and pictures will be coming soon!). For the 4th, we drove to Leesburg for a baseball game between the Leesburg Lighting and the US Military All Stars. The opening ceremony was touching and the game was very entertaining. And believe it or not, the fireworks show after was one of the best shows I've seen. The best thing about the whole day was that I was able to spend it with my parents and Stefano.

Here are a few pictures:

March 2009!

I know that is a long time from now but today I have registered my mom and I for the Disney Princess Half Marathon! It will be our first half marathon and I'm so excited to share this experience with her.

We have a very detailed schedule to start training in December. But for now, I need the motivation to start running regularly again :)

I'm really excited and wish us luck!

European Adventure

So here it is! The long awaited posting about my trip to Europe. It was amazing, eye-opening, educational, full of laughter and new friendships. I spent in a week in Prague with everyone from my class. That was interesting because we were learning all about Eastern European culture as well as business practices. So a lot of what we did that week were company visits, presentations, and working on our consulting projects. It was unbelievable that there were so many differences between the way that businesses work in the US compared to how they operate in the Czech Republic.

The figures on this clock moved when the clock strikes each hour

Prague Castle

We spent a day in Dresden, Germany and it was surprisingly very different from Prague! It was nice to see another city in Eastern Europe. Our tour guide, Sylvia, was awesome! She was so knowledgeable about the history of the town and it was amazing to see Communist buildings in the middle of such ornate architecture. For lunch, we had beer and bratwurst lol. It was the best brat I've ever had! Also, we stopped at the VW plant in Dresden. They had a place where you can test drive the Phaeton which is VW's most expensive car. It was almost like a virtual test drive. I actually drove the car but the car didn't move. It was like driving a really intense arcade game.

These photos were taken during our walking tour in Dresden

Communist building amongst all of the beauty

Our presentation at Emco went very well so I ended up being nervous for nothing. We were able to interact with the CEO and top management of the company so it was great international experience. And Emco's products (organic cereals and trail mixes) were amazing! Along with all of the business things we did, we had a lot of time to explore Prague.

(Side note: my only complaint with Prague was that people can smoke anywhere, even inside the hotel lobby. My eyes were constantly red from all of the smoke.)

Some fun facts about differences in Prague:
-It is really hard to buy something when the tag says "200" but that is only about $12.
-The toilets don't hold water like we are used to. You go to the bathroom and then when you flush, water comes gushing out.
-When ordering water at a restaurant, you have to specify "with gas" or "without gas" - which means carbonated or not.
-There are no shower curtains - just half a door so water tends to go everywhere!
-I ate the best Chinese food I've ever had across the street from my hotel!

A view of the Alps from the plane to Venice

After Prague, it was time to go to Venice. What a fantastic city! No cars, motorcycles, or bikes...just boats! The options for transportation are walking or taking a boat. There weren't too many tourist attractions but just seeing the city was enough because it is so unique. We spent our time walking around, shopping, taking pictures, and, of course, feeding the pigeons.

Traveling to Rome was an adventure in itself. We took a train but we had several train changes. Suggestion: when traveling by train in Italy, only bring small luggage because there is no where to put big bags! There was no where to put our bags and the ticket lady was getting irritated with us! Anyway haha, when we were making our second train change, we were rushing because our train was running behind so we thought we would miss our next train. Thankfully, we got on with all of our luggage and were on our way. The train was packed and we ended up standing for most of the time. After about two and half hours, when we realized we should be getting to our next stop, we figure out that we are on the wrong train! Oops!

But that was a blessing in disguise because the train that we finally booked (that was definitely going to Rome) traveled down the coast of Italy and it was absolutely gorgeous! I think that train ride was actually one of the favorite memories. The girls and I had a small room that we didn't have to share with anyone else and were surrounded by windows so we were just able to take in the scenery.

We finally make it to Rome and it was a very different city from Venice. It was more like New York City but with ruins in the middle of it. I saw so many places that up until now I have only read about, like the Colosseum, Palatine Hill, the Forum, Vatican City, Patheon, Trevi Fountain, etc. I think the one thing that I am grateful for is that we took organized tours of most of these places. They are extraordinary buildings to see but it is nice to know what you are actually looking at.

Water fountains like this are throughout the city!

Pantheon

We were not supposed to take pictures inside of the Sistine Chapel but I couldn't resist. I can't even begin to find the words to explain how magnificent it was.

St. Peters Basilica and Vatican City

Three-wheeled car!

This was the last dinner that the eight of us would have together before we all went separate ways. Some of us went home, some went to Paris, and my group went to London. Our waiter was too cute to not photograph :)

Now its time for London! First of all, I won't go into details, but never, NEVER fly with Ryan Air haha. We didn't have much time in London, only about two days total. So I took advantage of every second. The first night I went with Jen to see Parliament, Big Ben, London Tower, and Tower Bridge. Also, some of you may know of my fear of heights. Well I tried to forget my fears and go on to the London Eye. I'm so glad that I did because although I was terrified, it was a very cool experience.

Tower Bridge (often mistaken as the London Bridge)

The next day we saw Buckingham Palace which was gorgeous. We then walked over to take pictures with the guards that remain still no matter what. While we were over there, the police came and told everyone to clear the road. We knew someone was coming out of the property but we had no idea who. Out drives two cars and the man standing next to us said it was Charles and Camilla! I can't confirm that is true because I didn't take pictures but it was awesome nonetheless. That afternoon I went to see the London Aquarium which was fun and I was able to pet a sting ray :) That night I had fish and chips! But, they tasted just as the do here haha.

So I put some highlighted pictures in this blog but if you are interested in seeing all of the pictures I took (and there are some great ones!) just let me know and I'll send you a link to check them all out!

That is the end of my journey. The trip was incredible and I feel completely blessed for being given the opportunity to travel Europe but as funny as it sounds:

There is no place like HOME! :)
